When we believe in something or someone, we become confident in it. We speak about it, we stand by it, we defend it.
That is why there are heated debates and arguments that sometimes even lead to conflict among friends, family members, and even church members. Because we feel strongly about an issue and are not easily moved from what we believe.
But here’s an interesting truth: many of us believe, but we do so quietly.
We know what God has done. We have seen His Hand in our lives. But when it’s time to speak, we hesitate. We wonder what to say? What if we get it wrong? What if people reject us?
But the truth is, what God has done in our lives was never meant to stay with us.
The Word of God says in Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV): “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
Family, that is not a suggestion. That is instruction. Commonly called The Great Commission.
Now, let’s be clear: many of us think that means standing on a platform or preaching to crowds. But sharing our faith often starts much simpler—it starts with our testimony.
Because here’s the thing: no one can argue with what God has done in our lives. Who knows better than us how He healed us, provided for us, brought us through what we thought would break us, and changed us in ways we never could.
In the book of Psalm 66:16 (KJV), it says: “Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”
Here, the psalmist, reflecting on how God brought him through seasons of testing and affliction, invites others to hear what God has done for his soul.
Family, that is testimony. Not theology. Not perfection. Just truth. Meaning, you don’t have to be a Bible scholar to share what God has done in your life. I am a living witness to that being a fact!
But many still allow fear to silence them, making them feel like they need to be more, know more, or have it all together first.
I was like that. But here I am today. Not because I have it all figured out, or I am a better speaker than any of you. No. Here I am today because I chose to use the gift God has given me to speak anyway. And as I do, He continues to guide me in what to say, and by His grace, I am becoming more confident in it.
Because the Word of God says in Acts 4:20 (KJV): “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
Notice that—cannot but speak. That means when something is real, it becomes difficult to keep it in.
So if we are silent, it is not because God has not done anything; it is because fear is getting in the way.
But the Word reminds us in Jeremiah 20:9 (KJV): “…his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones… and I could not stay.”
Family, when we truly recognise what God has done, something in us should want to speak.
Now, you’re asking: How do I share what God has done without being afraid?
Well, we start with our story. We do not complicate it—we simply share what God has done for us. We speak where we are. Not waiting for a perfect moment or platform, we speak in everyday conversations.
Also, we rely on God, not ourselves. We do not have to have all the answers. We trust God to guide us.
The Word says in Exodus 4:12 (KJV): “Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.”
We have to choose boldness over fear. Not because we feel confident, but because we trust God.
How many preachers and teachers and public speakers here still tremble, like I do, when we stand to speak in front of a crowd? Yet we do it anyway, not in our own strength, but trusting that God will meet us there and give us what to say.
And what is extremely important, Family, is that we live what we say.Because our lives are also a testimony.
The Word says in 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV): “…be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you…”
Family, that means our lives should make people ask questions. And if it does, there’s your opportunity to testify. Amen?!
Because this Gospel was never meant to stay with us. It is the power of God at work.
Romans 1:16 (KJV): “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…”
Family, this is not just a story; this is power. Power to save. Power to change. Power to transform lives.
And that power was never meant to be hidden. It was meant to be shared.
So today, we can make some declarations and decisions:
We will not stay silent. We will not let fear hold us back.We will speak about what God has done for us.And we will live in a way that reflects Him.
