Opening Prayer:
God of all creation, thank You that there is nowhere we can go where You are not. Today, open our minds to see the vastness of Your reach and the perfection of Your timing. As we reflect on what man has achieved through space exploration and navigation, remind us that Your presence is greater, Your timing flawless, and Your wisdom unmatched. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Devotional:
Space travel is one of the greatest symbols of human advancement.
Man has landed on the moon, launched satellites, sent rovers to Mars, and now dreams of colonizing other planets. Global Positioning Systems (GPS) let us navigate anywhere on Earth—guided by signals from orbiting satellites that track our exact position.
Can you imagine? Or maybe you’re one of those who would watch space travel on TV.
But have you ever thought deeply about it? If man can send signals from space to tell us where we are on Earth, how much more precise is the God who made the universe?
Some folk think they can be Christians when their church brothers and sisters are watching, but when dealing with their family, they are the most miserable. When on the job, they don’t give an honest day’s work but expect an honest day’s pay. When with their friends, their conversation is slack, and they say hey I’m human. They can go wherever they want and party behind closed doors…you know what I’m talking about…thinking that no-one is watching.
Galatians 6:7 (KJV) tells us ‘God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap’.
The Bible tells us in 2 Chronicles 16:9 MSG ‘God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him’.
The Bible also tells us that God will judge us for every idle word we speak. Matthew 12:36 (NLT): ‘And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.’”
Hebrews 4:13 (NLT): says: ‘Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.’”
We are looking today at space travel & GPS, a phenomenon that reveals man’s curiosity and capability. Yet for all our telescopes and rockets, we still haven’t mapped all the galaxies God created.
Our best satellites may lose signal. Our GPS systems require constant updates. Many times the GPS in vehicles send us to the wrong location.
But God? He is never lost. Never delayed. Never limited.
Psalm 139:7–10 (NLT) says: “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.”
Even astronauts in orbit are within God's reach.
In the Amplified version of Isaiah 40:26, we read: “Lift up your eyes on high and see: who has created these [heavenly bodies], the One who brings out their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one is missing.”
Family, our God knows every star. Every person. Every second. You are not forgotten or misplaced. I am not forgotten or misplaced.
Where GPS helps us find our way physically, God provides divine direction for our souls. He doesn’t just know where we are—He knows where we are going and how to get us there.
Proverbs 16:9 (MSG) puts it this way:“We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.”
There may be times when we feel off course, delayed, or stuck in orbit—but we are reminded today that God has not lost track of us. Trust His timing. Trust His route.
Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV) reminds us:“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for being the God who always knows where we are as Your children and where You’re taking us. Help us to trust Your guidance over our own understanding. Thank You that You are never late, You are never lost, and You are never limited. May we follow You with confidence and faith from this day onwards. In Jesus’ name, amen.
