When It's Not Your Turn Yet | Surviving the Set Time Season | SEASONS

Have you ever felt like everyone around you got their answer, their breakthrough, their moment, and yet yours still hasn't come? That impatience has a name, and today we're not pretending it isn't real.

The Set Time Season. When it's not your turn yet.

Lord, we thank You for life, and for the grace and mercy that met us fresh on this brand new day. We wait on You this morning, and we ask You to strengthen our hearts in this moment. With gratitude, we come before You with expectancy that every promise You made to us will be fulfilled. Father, some of us have watched others get promoted, celebrated, or answered while our own prayer still tarries, and it has left a jealousy in us we're almost ashamed to name. We come hungry for Your Word today, so feed us and teach us. Give us the courage to speak up the way Zelo phe had's daughters did, instead of staying silently bitter. Remind us that a set time is still a set time, even when we can't see the clock ticking. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Most of us have felt it: watching someone else's prayer get answered while ours still sits on the shelf. Somebody else gets the promotion. Somebody else gets the ring. Somebody else's child finally calls. And you're still waiting, still believing, and quietly wondering if God forgot your file.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV): "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

The scripture doesn’t say some things have a season. It says everything does. Including the thing you're still waiting on. The question is: Do we have faith to believe that?

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (KJV): "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."

God's timing makes all things beautiful. Can anyone look back and say this today? God's timing makes all things beautiful. If you can’t say that, it means you don’t understand that it is only in God’s time, not necessarily in ours.

Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV): "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

Somebody needs to hear the Word of the Lord again today. The vision doesn't disappear because it takes a while to appear. It's still appointed. It just hasn't arrived yet. Hallelujah.

That tension, talking about a real promise on a timeline we can't see, is exactly where today's story sits.

Read Numbers 27.

Numbers 27:1-4 (KJV): "Then came the daughters of Zelophehad... and they stood before Moses... saying, Our father died in the wilderness... and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father."

Five daughters, with no legal right to inherit land under the existing law, walked to the door of the tabernacle, the most public place in the camp, and made their case directly to Moses, the priest, and the leaders of all Israel. Such boldness, as they stood up for their rights!

Numbers 27:5 (KJV): "And Moses brought their cause before the LORD."

Moses didn't have an answer, and he didn't dismiss them either. He took their case straight to God.

Numbers 27:6-7 (KJV): "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, The daughters of Zelo-phe-had speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them."

God didn't just allow it. He said they were right. Their waiting didn't end in silence; it ended in God changing the law of inheritance for the entire nation, because five women asked.

Family, waiting on God does not mean staying quiet. But we must handle things the right way, with wisdom and tact, and at the right time. These women waited through the wilderness like everyone else, but when the moment came, they didn't sit back and hope somebody remembered them. They spoke up, together, in front of everyone who mattered.

Joshua 17:3-4 (KJV): "But Zelo-phe-had... had no sons, but daughters... And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father."

This is decades later, when a new leader, a new generation, and the daughters show up again to make sure the promise is actually kept. And it is. What God ruled through Moses in the wilderness, Joshua honoured in the Promised Land.

So what are we saying here? How do we apply this to our current situations? Our set time might not arrive on our schedule, but it is not canceled. If God changed the law of inheritance for five women who refused to stay silent, He can move on whatever we’ve been waiting on as well.

Family, some of us have been watching someone else's harvest come in while ours is still buried in the ground. Maybe we’ve started to wonder if we did something wrong, or if God simply forgot about us.

I trust we are reassured today that no, as God didn't forget Zelophehad's daughters in the wilderness, He hasn't forgotten us either.

Our set time may not have come yet, but remember the scripture in Habakkuk which says it will not tarry past its appointed hour. Hold on. Amen?!

It was all about the Set Time Season today: what it means to wait on God without staying silent. Zelo phe had's daughters waited through the wilderness, then spoke up boldly when their moment came, and God ruled in their favour. Hallelujah. This was a ruling Joshua confirmed decades later in the Promised Land.

So, if you're still waiting on your set time, understand this: waiting doesn't mean sitting in silence forever. And also remember: a delay is not a denial.

Numbers 27:7 shows God changing the law for five women who asked, and Habakkuk 2:3 promises the vision will surely come. Hallelujah, Amen!
