Opening Prayer
Lord, we pause at this moment to acknowledge that You are the source of all wisdom and knowledge. As we marvel at human invention, remind us that Your power and intelligence far surpass anything created. Teach us through Your Word and open our hearts to deeper reverence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
What do we really know about artificial intelligence?
I can’t say that I know a whole lot. But there’s a little fella called ChatGPT that has become one of my besties. I use it regularly, because it is smart, creative, helpful, quick with answers, and even surprises me at times.
Yet, as clever as my digital sidekick may be, it still has limitations. And I remain very aware that only God’s knowledge is truly without end.
In recent decades, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed from science fiction to daily reality. It is really easy to become fascinated by it…if you’re into this kind of thing.
From digital assistants like Siri and Alexa, to real-time translation apps, and self-driving vehicles — AI can now process languages, interpret facial expressions, detect fraud, personalize content, and even generate human-like responses.
AI works through machine learning, which means it analyzes massive amounts of data, learns patterns, and makes predictions based on what it has seen before. The more data it receives, the more it “learns.”
But again, while all of that is impressive, AI is still simply just a tool. AI only knows what it has been taught. It cannot predict what it hasn’t seen. It cannot create from nothing. And it cannot understand the heart, only the pattern.
In contrast, God’s intelligence is not learned — it is eternal.
Psalm 147:5 (NKJV)“Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.”
Just as AI thrives on data, the internet has become the highway that feeds it.
The internet is often called the ‘information superhighway,’ connecting billions of people across the globe.
With a few clicks, we can access libraries, news, entertainment, and even livestream events happening in real time. It has become the world’s memory bank, but it is also flawed — filled with misinformation, distractions, and limitations.
Now while the internet may link us to endless information, it cannot give us revelation. Only God holds perfect truth, untainted by error, and His knowledge is not stored in servers but written on eternal scrolls.
AI filters through internet data; God filters through hearts. AI tries to recognize faces; God recognizes souls. AI may anticipate our next purchase, but God already knows our eternal purpose.
Psalm 139:1–2 (NLT)“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.”
While the internet and AI work together to track our digital footprint, God's knowledge surpasses code and data. He doesn't need to observe behaviour to guess motivation; He knows every motive before the action.
Psalm 44:21 (ESV)“Would not God discover this? For He knows the secrets of the heart.”
AI systems update and evolve. God has never needed an upgrade.
AI cannot fully interpret emotions, nor can it offer true wisdom. Only God gives perfect insight, guidance, and truth.
Proverbs 2:6 (AMP)“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
In a world obsessed with being “smarter,” there is a call, a need for us to return to the One who knows all things, before time began. The internet may connect us to people, but only God can connect us to our destiny.
Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.”
So yes, AI is powerful. Yes, it is useful. But it is nothing compared to the omniscient, omnipresent, all-wise Creator.
So today, we are reminded that in our everyday lives, not only when the going gets rough and tough, we must trust the God who sees what no camera can.
Depend on the One who doesn’t just analyze the past, but authors our future.
Don’t just be amazed by what man can create. Be in awe of the Creator who never forgets, never miscalculates, and never misses a moment.
Closing Prayer
Lord, we thank You that no technology, no advancement, no intelligence can rival You. While man creates in part, You are complete in knowledge. Help us to rely not on systems, but on Your Spirit. May we walk daily with the confidence that we are fully known and deeply loved by You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
