Claiming Your Full Inheritance | The Daughters of Zelophehad  |  Numbers 27:1–7

You've been overlooked in an inheritance that had your name on it. Someone else got the credit. Someone else walked into what should have been yours — and everyone around you seems to have accepted it as just how things are.

But what if you stood up and said: give me what is rightfully mine?

What if the only thing standing between you and your inheritance was your own willingness to walk to the door and say so?

Numbers 27:1–7 (KJV), "Then came the daughters of Zelophehad...and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah. And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,Our father died in the wilderness... and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son?Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, The daughters of Zelophehad speak right:thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren;and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.”

Five women. No husbands. No brothers. Their father died, leaving no sons, which meant under the law as it stood, his name and his land would simply vanish. Everyone had accepted this.

But Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah refused.

They walked to the door of the tabernacle — the most public, visible, sacred gathering place in all of Israel. In front of Moses, the high priest, the princes, and the entire congregation. And they stood there and declared out loud: give us what is ours.

Moses brought it before God. And God said: “The daughters of Zelophehad speak right.” Not acceptable. Not tolerated. Right. God validated their boldness and changed the law on their behalf.

What God has for you is for you. No one can legally withhold what God has already signed your name on. Your dream is not arrogance — it is an inheritance. Your boldness is not pride — it is obedience. Dream out loud. Speak it freely. Claim it boldly.

Reflection:  What inheritance do you need to walk boldly up to the door and claim today?
