Waiting is one of the hardest things to do, and the waiting room is one of the toughest places to be.

Because you’re not where you used to be… but you’re not yet where you believe God is taking you.

And in that in-between space, questions start rising: “Am I in the right place? Am I doing the right thing? Did I hear God correctly? Why is this taking so long? Should I be doing something to help this process along?”

But here is what we must understand: waiting is not wasted when God is involved.

For many of us, the challenge is not just waiting…The real challenge is how we live while we wait. Do we get impatient and run ahead of God? Do we get frustrated and start complaining? Do we get discouraged and begin to give up?

Or do we trust Him… even when nothing is changing? Because waiting will reveal what’s in us.

So the real question is not, “Why is this taking so long?” But,“How am I showing up while I wait?”

Psalm 119:105 (KJV) says: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Notice something here: God’s Word is not always a floodlight. Sometimes, it’s a lamp. And a lamp doesn’t show you the whole journey. It shows you just enough for the next step.

And that’s where many of us struggle. We want the full plan. God gives the next step. We want clarity for the year. God gives instructions for today.

James 1:22 (KJV) says: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

This is where trust becomes practical. Because it’s one thing to hear God’s Word… But it’s another thing to live it out when it’s inconvenient.

Let’s make this simpler: If God says, forgive, but we’re still holding on to the offense, we’re hearing, but not doing. Correct?

If God says, trust Me, but we keep trying to control everything, we’re hearing, but not doing. Correct?

If God says, be still, but we’re rushing ahead in anxiety, what are we doing? Correct! We are hearing, but not doing.

And the Bible says when we do that, we deceive ourselves. That means we can feel spiritual, but still be stuck.

So here’s the truth: We don’t build trust in God by knowing more Scripture. We build trust in God by applying the Scripture we already know and learning more of what is in The Word.

So what does that look like in real life? It shows up most clearly in one place: when we are waiting.

Family, waiting seasons are not just about delay. They are about development.

God is asking: Can you obey Me when it’s quiet? Can you trust Me when nothing is changing? Can you apply My Word when there is no immediate result?

Each of us have practical examples we are thinking about right now as we are here on this Live Empowerment Session: something you’ve been praying for for days, weeks, months, years.

You’ve been praying for a door to open, but God told you to be faithful where you are.

We have to learn that applying the Word looks like: Showing up. Serving well. And keeping the right attitude. Even when we feel overlooked.

Perhaps someone here has been asking God to fix a particular situation, but God told you to guard your mouth.

In this scenario, applying the Word looks like: Not reacting. Not speaking out of emotion. Choosing peace over proving a point.

How many of us have been there and have gotten that done successfully? I only recently learnt how to do that. Honestly.

There are other cases where many of us are waiting for clarity on what to do in situations for yourself, your children, on the job, etc., but God told you to trust Him.

What do we do? Applying the Word looks like resting in Him, not forcing an outcome… and moving only when He gives direction.

Here’s a simple way to remember this: God’s Word works… when we work it. Not occasionally. Not emotionally. But consistently.

And let me simply say this for all of us: Obedience brings clarity. Many times, we are asking God for more direction…but we have not followed the last instruction.

So today, instead of asking, “God, what’s next?” Ask: “God, what have You already told me… that I have not applied?”

Because our breakthrough may not be in a new revelation…it may be in obedience to what we already know!

Family, our waiting seasons become lighter when we stop trying to figure everything out and start walking in what God already said.

So today’s focus is simple: Take one Scripture. Apply it. Live it. We may not be able to do so perfectly, but let’s do so intentionally.

Because when we do that, something shifts: Peace comes. Clarity grows. Confidence builds. And before we know it, we’re no longer just waiting; we’re walking with God through the waiting.
