“Talk is cheap.” – What does this mean? - People say a lot, but actions prove the truth.

“Actions speak louder than words.” – What we do matters more than what we say.

“A promise made is a debt unpaid.” – A reminder that every promise carries responsibility.

“Words are wind.” – Promises without action are empty and fleeting.

“Empty barrels make the most noise.” – People who promise much often deliver little.

People say things like this because they’ve learned that promises can be fragile. We have all felt the sting of words that sounded nice and sure, but after a while proved empty.

Yet where human words fail, we are reassured that God’s Word stands. He doesn’t speak to impress; He doesn’t speak empty words; He doesn’t say one thing one minute and change His mind the next.

When God speaks, He speaks to fulfill. He says what He means and means what He says.

But life happens, it is said. And we have all experienced promises that were never kept — a friend who said, “I’ll always be there,” a spouse who said, “I’ll never leave,” or a colleague who promised fairness and then failed us.

We have all also made promises we couldn’t keep. We said, “You can trust me,” but we failed someone in a moment of weakness. We told God, “I’ll never do that again,” yet we found ourselves struggling with the same sin. We promised, “I forgive you,” but secretly kept the hurt alive. We vowed to stay faithful, loyal, or available — but life, emotions, or pride stepped in.

Human words. They can change. But God’s word never does. Hallelujah.

Samson was chosen and set apart by God, bound by a vow of holiness from birth. Yet he broke that vow repeatedly, chasing what pleased his flesh instead of honoring God (Judges 16).

Still, in his final moment, God’s strength returned to him. Judges 16:22, NLT “But before long, his hair began to grow back”

Jonah promised to serve God as a prophet, yet when the command came to go to Nineveh, he ran in the opposite direction.

His disobedience landed him in the belly of a great fish, but God’s call didn’t change. “Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time” (Jonah 3:1, NIV).

The Israelites also broke their covenant repeatedly, chasing after idols, though God had delivered them. Yet His heart never changed. He said: “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments” (Deuteronomy 7:9, NIV).

We are being reminded today, Family, that even after failure, God’s purpose and mercy remained. We are reminded that man’s inconsistency never cancels God’s consistency.

In marriages, friendships, or ministries, people fail because people are human.

Sometimes they walk away, lie, or give up — and at other times, we are the ones who fall short.

But the Lord says in Psalm 89:34, NKJV: “My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips”

What He speaks stands firm through every storm. When others’ promises fade, God’s promises remain as anchors.

Isaiah 40:8, NLT says “The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever”

Family, God’s Word is not dependent on feelings or circumstances. If He said it, He will do it. Amen.

So, Family, let’s stop measuring God’s faithfulness by man’s failures. He is not like us.

Numbers 23:19, NKJV declares, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do?”.

When people fail us, as they often do, when we fail, as we often do, we can still stand on God’s Word.

Broken promises may bruise the heart, but God’s truth binds it back together. Glory to God.

Every “yes” and “amen” in Christ still holds (2 Corinthians 1:20, AMP).

Today, may we learn to trust again — not because man is flawless, but because our God never changes.

His word will always outlast disappointment, and His promises remain unbroken.

Day 3 | Not Every Open Door Is From God

Again, this topic is deeply personal to me. Today, we are talking about open doors. And as Christians, we love open doors, don’t we? Because we say, "Oh, this is an answer to prayer. God is so good!”
